Webb dock 29-07-22

Post by Leonard » Fri Jul 29, 2022 8:49 pm

Hi all,
Just a very quick and near-empty report from web dock today. Not a bite and baits came back completely untouched over 2hrs either side of the ~4:30pm high tide. I fished the first pontoon from the car park which looked promising. Water very cold but fairly clear given the rain. I was targeting salmon, pinkies, and used plastics+bait.

That spot always looks good with the weedbeds but I wonder if it’s too shallow. I’ve had many more donuts there than successes. Any advice for future trips?

Would be especially keen to have a chat with any fellow mulloway “targeters” about their thoughts on the spot too! pms welcome :).

Cheers,
Leo

If you can secure a spot on that bend where the lookout is further up, it can produce some amazing snappers. Further up around that bend you can get big flatties along there if you cast a good distance out. I've caught few baytrouts there on small metal lures too around this time of the year. Early morning has been the most successful time for me. Goodluck hope this helps

Much appreciated Kenle :). Have certainly heard about the 10kg snapper from off that point last year.

There's a guy that constantly post a snapper catch almost every week on fb, if you put in the amount of time and dedication as that bloke did I'm sure the fish God will offer up a snapper to you.

Yep that bend is a hot spot for sure for good size snappers.
I’ve done well in the past casting to the left just before you get to that bend as well for good chunky size pinkies.
Better luck next time!
Cheers 👍🏻

I've got fish from thr secon jetty all the way to the bend and after the bend.
But just like other places, it can be hit and miss
