Post by Scraglor » Sat Jan 09, 2016 10:23 pm

Just a quick report, went out to the usual spot, chasing Ting.

Outgoing tide was best, mussels choice of bait. Just after change of tide was best.

Final tally;
- 32x Whiting 31-41cm
- 3x pinkies 30-33cm
- 1x flatty not worth mentioning

Thanks guys, it's been a good season so far for us, but by the looks of it the boys over in the western suburbs are doing better.

Hopefully they keep going during autumn

Haha tbh, I'm hopeless at catching gummies. It's on my to do list, nut them out. I've never rigged up a whiting head before tbh, any tips? I'm guessing 6/0 in through the back and out the top between the eyes? Single circle hook on a running sinker?

Pin it under the chin, up through the nose. If current is bad, maybe tie the mouth shut with bait thread, to stop it spinning badly.
