Fresh squid or pippies are best for whitings I find. Muscles are good as well

Was there yesterday night too just after the gars stopped biting.

Ended up with 1 calamari and 1 whiting off the little pier, and a bunch of undersize pinkies.
The gars stopped biting just before dark or?
Nah i think it was because of the tide. They stop after tide change . Caught them at night before.
I’ve had my best sessions at night well after dark.
Do you know if many fish for them there at night?

Caught my whiting with banana prawn, split down the middle and then cut into smaller pieces. Not the best bait but it works and it's a lot easier to buy

Nice mate.
I have caught them with frozen prawns bought from the servo before but only used them because they didn’t have good pippies or squid.
