Fresh squid or pippies are best for whitings I find. Muscles are good as well :thumbsup:

Nah i think it was because of the tide. They stop after tide change . Caught them at night before.
I’ve had my best sessions at night well after dark.
Do you know if many fish for them there at night?

Yeah, here in SA, the winter Gar are more active at night , , , , you get a good feed of Gar and Tommies

Caught my whiting with banana prawn, split down the middle and then cut into smaller pieces. Not the best bait but it works and it's a lot easier to buy

I caught a nice one on a fillet of pilchard but that was a one off I yhink

Nice mate.
I have caught them with frozen prawns bought from the servo before but only used them because they didn’t have good pippies or squid.

I’ve caught them on small bits of pillies before and gars as well with the same bait :)
