The 8ft Shimano Sephia? Going from the Quickfire to that would be like going from an overcooked spaghetti straw to a fresh uncooked one straight out of the packet so not surprised it feels weird. If your leader knot isn't catching on the guides then they're definently not an issue

For braid i have changed from sunline to tasline 12lb braid and 16lb sunline fc rock fluro catch rate still pretty good and when snagged on the bottom get my jig back .Sunline is good braid but tasline is a step above

I use 15kg WFT Strongline (not Gliss) on my dedicated squid rod. It’s thin and I just rip snagged jigs out of the weed.
