I've got one of the second batch Rui rods, love it.
Was at full stretch a couple of weeks ago, bringing in a big cala, then a couple of cuttles across big tide flow down South of the bay. Rod performed flawlessly.
is that the Rui k-crusher pro model
It's the squid law 'explosive limit'
Which is somewhat ironic given my history with rods.

Is yours the yellow coloured one shorty?

Nah, black one, it's the cross wrapped blank, (very similar to a majorcraft evolution).

Rui ones are hard to find now.
He stopped making them afaik..
Hey how do they compare to the emeraldas mx rods .
i thought the first batch he had made he was,nt happy with and sold off quite cheap?
I haven't used one yet, but yes the first batch he wasn't happy with how they turned out and he sold them really cheap. I believe ducky has one of those.

The second batch was supposedly really good. And piscatuer and few others have those.

I'm yet to use one, but he has stopped bringing them in because he said it was a lot if headache to do them to his satisfaction. I had the chance to buy the last one but I couldn't afford it at the time. They are pretty lightweight and very nicely made.
Nah don’t have one of the rui rods.

I do like his last few and have fished with them a couple of times but honestly I can’t go past my Megabass Caiyen 78l.

7’8”. Flicks out a heavier jig no worries. Handles big squid in deep water/current as well as sensitive enough for feeling the takes of 15cm hoods.

The main reason I love that orochi range light and strong enough and not pure carbon so can take some abuse without breaking. Plus any bigger doesn’t fit too well in my gunnel holders.
