Quick cradle snatching session over the weekend
G'day legends.
Hit up some of the local calamari for a change of scenery.
Got a few arrows in the mix and some nice eating sized calamari. They were in suicide mode and both of us bagged out pretty quickly releasing a heap of baby ones. Was good fun to be out targeting them after quite a long time.
Cheers and tight lines

Cheers guys. Was a good session.
Welch. You can hire a boat at Mornington boat hire mate and go out and get yourself some squid or other species too. You don't need a boating licence either to do it.
I suggest you go with someone who has some knowledge of the bay and boating in general though.
Cheers

Maybe even get yourself a kayak mate, I’ve got a $300 dollar one and I paddled to Frankston a few weeks back and bagged out. Great fun as well.

Great report mate! Just wondering what you think of the arrow squid in terms of edibility? I’ve found that the tentacles are chewy but the tube is very soft, just wondering if you’ve found the same. I know they fight very hard compared to the calamari and are very aggressive once on board.

i havent noticed anything too different tbh, but thats mainly because of it all being mixed up with each other, so i didnt know which one was what. next time ill make sure to try them separately.Irishfisherman wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 6:21 pmGreat report mate! yeah they are very aggresive and can bite if your not careful handling them.

The old behind the head calamari grasp doesn't work for long. The pain is horrendous for 5 minutes, and the blood, God the blood that comes out of your hand makes you question the need for ED and a transfusionpurple5ive wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 8:36 pmi havent noticed anything too different tbh, but thats mainly because of it all being mixed up with each other, so i didnt know which one was what. next time ill make sure to try them separately.Irishfisherman wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 6:21 pmGreat report mate!
