Few Calamari Missions.

Post by purple5ive » Wed Feb 03, 2021 9:06 pm

Gday Guys.
Ive been hitting the local and not so local calamari the last few weeks with some mixed results.
ive put in some hours on the smaller eating sized squid using the Ultralight Yamashita Feeling shaft, A rod i specifically purchased to chase these smaller sized squid. great fun when they are on!!
squid came on 2.5 sized jigs in 14T and rainbow

Anyway i had a Family function to attend recently and i put my hands up to offer a salt and pepper calamari Dish.
went out a week prior and got into some nice eating sized cala, and turned it into some yummy Salt and Pepper calamari Fry.
i did do a story on Insta about how i went about preparing the dish, some of you might have seen it Already.

It was a great Hit and didnt last long on the servery.

With all my squid now perished and no stock at home i decided to hit up the southern PPB area and get some more.
was a good day out with the standout jig being the Yamashita RO8 in 3.5 size.
we ended the day with 14 squid around that 20cm mark. and one quite decent sized cuttle,
