I use my knife but its hard to always it the spot, bill fisher and gone fishing have them but there more like $16. Awesome tool and well worth it

I think its a great tool to be honest , its quick and humanely kills them to keep them fresher and they dont die in our buckets slowly and ink everywhere lol, A knife is great too =)

I heard that if you have a broken piece of glass and wrap the base in cloth, to use as a handle, and you can shank the squid till it bleeds

Something I learnt in prison lol jks

I just press down hard just behind the head until you hear a "click", always seems to do the job

So is there actually any difference between using this squid spike and carrying around and using a plain old flat screwdriver? :fishhead:

Well this tool has a tool on it that fixes your jigg spikes aswell , and its edged, so that it can penetrate the backbone quick and fast, ill be buying one this weekend and ill let you guys know how well it really works hehe
