Re: Caddy Point
Nice report. Can't wait for some settled weather as I want to try a big float off one of those ledges and see what's in mid water. Top fishing from you guys, are there any access rules down that way or are the fences well back from the edge.

Not exactly. We hopped over a couple of them and turned our headlamps off as soon as we could see..... I treat the first 10ish metres back from the cliff as I treat trout streams, if i keep to myself and my head down and show respect then I can't really see anyone having a major tiff about it. Someone might, either way there's no signs and i'm not tresspassing until i get told to leave and refuse.

Re: Caddy Point
My dad sent some floats over from the UK. One of them takes 2oz of lead, I use a surf rod to cast it. Just not caught anything big enough to put a bend in the rod yet. But I will this year.DougieK wrote:Also, yeah, whole 35ish cm sambo under a balloon in a big Northerly looks pretty good doens't it......

There was a report of a guy breaking a nitro rockstar trying to land a 7 gill he hooked about 400 metres out on a balloon at Punchbowl the other day.

Re: Caddy Point
My rod will cope, not sure I've got a reel that holds 400m of line though. I'll sort that once I get spooled a couple of times. He's coming out for Christmas so I'll get him to squeeze my tld 25 into his case.
