going to rye for a fishing seshion

today I will be fishing at rye on my own because my uncles in Queensland just would like some advice bait wise for witing fresh squid is what I want if I cant get some squid heads will have to do

Squid strip and pipis always work. The hard part is to get through those micro pinkies. Prawns can be good too. Pumped yabbies/nippers are great.

Never tried. I guess they can work.
To me, whiting is a bait fishing thing. I know few people in Queensland catch sand whiting on lures. Most people bait fish for KGW here in Vic.

no i mean use it with some real bait on a hook so then it doesn't fall off as easy.

When I use worm plastic, I wiggle them. Not as a dead bait kind of thing.
Give it a try and let us know. Who knows it might work. I know pinkie can just hit a plastic on bottom doing nothing (happened few times to me using gulp worm pumpkin seeds), not sure about whiting.

i caught three squids and a flattie that i kept i dropped a whiting 2 pinkies and 1 banjo
