Launching from Tootgaroook.... Suggestions?

Hey Fishos,
Fished landbased all my life and fortunately for myself have recently purchased a Quintrex Seafisher 5.5mt Boat.
I've recently launched twice from Tootgaroook Boat Ramp (closest to my holiday home).
Put me on any pier between Rye and Portsea and I feel very confident of what/how to target any of your mainstream species.
However felt a little lost of where to go once on the boat. We did ok and caught a fair share of Squid/Flatties/Pinkies but never really felt confident at each spot...funnily enough I kept going from pier to pier out 1 to 2km out....
Can anyone assist me of where your top boating spots are? Don't expect GPS points (happy for you share though )
Would love to have a really good session for KGW, would you always recommend to anchor/burley up vs drifting, depth etc?
Apologies for the long post, any tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated..... Heading out Saturday.
Cheers
