Snaps are still biting
I was bored sitting at home so at 15:30 I decided to put the tinny in at paynesville and hit the 6 mile off lakes .
I got to my mark at 16:25 and as soon as the first 2 baits hit the bottom they were hit hard and 2 40+cm snaps to christen my new SHIMANO revolution rod which is why I went I got sick of walking past a rod that hadn't been wet yet . Then another 33cm snap to go with the 1st 2 and then things went quiet.
Then this fellow showed up any idea what it is called . Any way I got a feed for a short trip so I'm happy can't wait for a flatter day so I can spend an arvo out there ......
Cheers TAC

Canned_Tuna you are so correct - well known as "butchers pri......s". Off Bermagui some days they were prolific on the 4 mile reef. To me they taste like mush but they were quite valuable in the live fish trade for Chinese restaurants from Southern NSW to Sydney. A good fish to let go or cut one up for bait.
