Bumpy day outside but no wind. Headed up past petmans. Started in 23 meters. Couple of flatties and an invasion of slimy mackerel . Half an hour and 20 mackerel later up anchor and try in closer, 1 flatties. Moved back to tyers in 22mtr. A few nice flathead and then zing off goes the rod.
Very nice gummy. A few more flatties and another gummy. Figured that's enough and bumped back to home. Noticed a guy nearby posted a smallish Mako on lakes faceb fishing.
Very nice and it looks like ya tinny grew up :rf:

18 flatties today. No gummies. Most others had a gummy or two. Just not our day.

Went out in my tinny today. Just went 1nm south of the entrance, near the waverider buoy. First drop a good bluespot flatty. Went quiet for a while then consistent hookups . Decided 15 was enough, so packed up and as I was putting my bait rod away it caught on my drogue on the deck. Grabbed at it to clear the hooks just as it let go. Hook buried straight into my little finger past the barb. 😱 no amount of gentle pulling and turning would get it out. Cut the line and headed in with it still in there. Had another go at home, no chance. So off to emergency. The nurse who was a fisherman had a laugh. Showed him another hook the same, a small bait hook, and we figure it was straight in 4- 5mm. Circle hook. Not getting that out easy. So call the doc, who consulted with another, 5 injections in the finger, hurt like hell, . 10 minutes later ,with me not looking they pulled it out using cord and pliers.. .Then I had to go home clean the boat and fillet the fish. Some days are diamonds others are lumps of coal.

Doc whom puled it out grazed the side of his face with it lucky it didnot get stuck in the side of his face
Had a snapper hook stuck in finger the guy next door gota piece of line and reverse pulled it out -No big deal
