Spot Y

Post by DougieK » Wed Feb 03, 2016 3:01 pm

Not the one that comes after X...but as in Y do we even bother.

Fished a phenomenal looking spot with the Caddy and forum member Goonbag recently. Didn't get any significant fish (no kings) but had some fun on local species and enjoyed the spectacular coastline at Wilsons Prom. 19 hour round trip for no real fish and to be honest, I had so much fun it doesn't matter.

Here's a playlist.

and i'll let the boys upload their own pics...but to give you an idea...

Sensational effort there mate. Even though no fish that is an awesome effort and the reward of that beautiful paradise in the background is reason enough to be out there

How long was the trek down from the main road?

5km steep...about an hour to the point where we cut off the track and then probably another hour on the way in and 50 mins on the way back. The climb back up on it's own took 30 mins, then walk back to the track through the scrub, then an hour slog up the hill back to the car. It's a tough spot to get too, half the adventure is getting in and out.

Very nice looking spot there, they are getting Kingfish off the Breakwater at Apollo Bay on x-rap lures ;-)

I don't give spots too often for the non mainstream ones, but we're fishing here -38.998596, 146.262360 and seriously, power to anyone that wants to walk in and out of there.

Yes, but Tongue Point is alot further for most I would say, and it seems alot more effort.

Like you said, the trek is half the adventure I guess... Different strokes for different folks
