Inverloch 9/9

Post by Jezza94 » Wed Sep 09, 2020 9:38 pm

Headed out today with the weather looking fine. Launched the boat around 12.30 after pumping some bass yabbies at Screw Creek.

Bee-lined for Stevie's Gutter and set anchor in 7 metres of water. Couldn't keep the Wrasse away so we headed back over the shallows in front of screw creek, over the yabbies grounds in search of Salmon and Flathead

The first salmon came in at 55cm, my pb. Really tested out my new ugly stick, this thing took off like a freight train... Didn't want to come near the boat. Fought like a snapper

The second one was a by-catch, came in at 47cm. This fight took around 15 minutes with my Daiwa Laguna and 1500 stradic

A lot of undersize whiting and flathead as usual, hopefully some bigger examples cruise through soon.

Cheers, Jeremy

I was hoping they brought out a reel between the 1000 and 2500 and I had not heard about it yet

Great report...I'm surprised the fun police on here havent commented on you not wearing a life-jacket
"
You are required to wear a lifejacket on a powered vessel up to 4.8m, when in an open area and underway. All boaters on a vessel up to 12m in length must wear a lifejacket during times of heightened risk – such as when boating solo, crossing a bar or when there's a weather warning – when in an open area and underway.Nov 26, 2019"
transportsafety.vic.gov.au › prepare
Wear a lifejacket | Transport Safety Victoria
Underway is not at anchor or made fast to shore. So technically if you are anchored you do not have to wear it.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.
