I've been informed there's been a change to an exam I had coming up so it looks like I've got a few days to go looking for them too. Hopefully there's some gars around too, I don't know how much longer my tub of maggots will last.
Find a road kill & give it to them
P.s. - they eat rotten flesh, not fresh stuff
I've got a freezer full of rotting flesh thanks to an accident with a power plug 2 weeks ago lol
I can show you where a full tucker box freezer was buried at Walkerville nth

I've found they work just as well when frozen, you can't defrost them more than once though or they go soggy. The garfish aren't enticed by the minimal wriggling action, all they're attracted to is the smell. Don't feed them anything, or else or they'll turn into casters, generally they stop eating once they reach bait size anyway. Also, make sure you keep them at the back of the fridge. I made a batch home a little while ago from chicken drumsticks and got a full 2 litre container of them after about 2 weeks, so far they've lasted 3 weeks in the fridge. Much cheaper than buying them as well. Hope this helps.

Cheers, I might give this a go with some of the bait that went off in the freezer.

so once more back in the lake to see if the KGW have turned up. Left home at 0700. 0705 at the ramp and I am the only one there, quick zip up the lake to Nungurner. Anchored up in the whiting hole. Baits in the water 0720. first bite 0721, :) First KGW for the season onboard 0722.
By 0800 I had 8 kgw and 6 school whiting. Seemed like enough for a couple of feeds, so headed back and had a little prospect around to see what else was in the area. Not much, thought I might have pinged a flatty but none in my usual haunts.
Waiting for offshore weather now as the big snapper should be here. :wt: :wt:

There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Looks like next week at the earliest. Give the KGWs a go if you can't get offshore.
