Inverloch Land based

Post by junior » Sun Jan 17, 2021 9:40 pm

heads up, this is more of a sook than a report...

Spent the best part of the week spinning around the mouth of the inlet, flicking soft plastics around the mouth, bait fishing near the pier and squidding around the pier - all for nothing.
Spoke to others there that had only picked up very small flatties, an ok sized mullet, a tiny trevally and a few with donuts.

I reckon if you're down that way without a boat, just park the fishing gear and spend the time with the family.
Probably the most unproductive place I've fished.

Also noticed that after wading, there was a very distinct salt line on the clothes. Maybe it's a overly saline? Not sure if that's an issue or not.

Definitely can be hard work and you’re limited by being land based especially on the Venus Bay side of the inlet. Always plenty of smallish Salmon from the beaches which are fun on light gear at this time of year. There are plenty of worse ways to spend your time in my opinion.

It's been some time since I've been there, I used to fish pensioners corner with pipi and squid and most times caught good amounts of king george whiting, also the occasional salmon and mullet, usually on the incoming tide.
He who has the most fishing rods WINS ! :ts:
