Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Had a fish yesterday. It was a bit slow. Tried South side of Flanagan island for 1 very large Taylor. Then the barrier for zero. Moved to the Nyerimilang bank and had 6 all around 32cm just on slack water. Once the flood tide started it was all over. Peeled prawn was the go. Toadies were savage.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Was at Fraser Is again this afternoon - 3 hours of zero keepers and then about high tide managed 6 KGW ( best 2 at 40 cm) and a 46 cm Flattie. As with re-tyred, peeled prawn was the go and Toadies were a real pain!

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
Managed to get down to beautiful Metung for a few days. Went out for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon. Went back to Woolaston bay and managed 4 medium whiting in 2 hours. Went back this morning and got 4 straight away and then nothing for next 2 hours. After lunch headed down towards Kalimna and fished off Rigby Island for another 10 KGW. Pippies and peeled prawns.
Re: WEEDY WHITING
Though they look like a whiting, they are actually a member of the wrasse family. The catch (and release) of the day though was a 30cm bright blue Weedy Whiting - amazing colour!

Re: KGW Gippsland Lakes
My last two trips have been feeding toadies and not much else with just two decent whiting each trip. As they say third time lucky (hopefully).
