Post by philthyp » Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:45 am

Hi all, heading down to Lakes Entrance for Easter and wondering if anyone has any suggestions for best areas to target? Im keen for a feed of Flatties or Whiting and im happy to fish offshore or in the Lakes just dont want to waste my time offshore if theres nothing much around.

Hey mate, there's exact topic being discussed. From a boat specifically though.

Landbased wise, maybe try the surf for aussie salmon.

Offshore is all about gummies lately. Head straight out past the reef till you get to 45 metres or so. Pillies or barracuda fillets. Drop a bait jig over to catch a few coots
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Had a cracking trip. Weather was amazing and we fished the ocean 3 days in a row. Tried numerous marks from this page without much success. Eventually we drifted in 20m and got onto the Flatties. Caught 10-12 40-55cm fish each day which we were happy with. Plenty of Gurnard and small sharks to keep us entertained as well.
