Looking for Salmon

Post by Troy McLure » Sat Jul 31, 2021 10:46 am

After a fair break between fishing sessions I hit beach no 4 at VB just before first light this morning. Run out tide, slight wind from the North and as usual the place was completely empty. I was using 40 gram Gillies baitfish and worked my way up and down the beach trying to find something. Anything. Only ended up with 1 Salmon about 35cm but I couldn’t locate his mates. That’s fishing I guess. I’m back next weekend and can put more time in so hopefully they’re around. Has anybody had any luck off the beaches around here recently? Haven’t heard of many getting caught.

I fished gunnamatta just before lockdown and was very quiet despite so many people fishing, no fish at all.
I'l might go to Janjuc beach tomorrow morning.

Hopefully you have some luck tomorrow. I might try some bait fishing next weekend just to change it up.
