Skippies

First time in a long time I've chased the birds in the lake.
On Friday I found myself in amongst a large school of bait fish that were being attacked from above and below.
In between the mouth of Salt Creek and Raymond Island. Lake King.
So a quick search for a metal slug and soon I had skippies aboard.
At one stage it was a fish on every cast. Most were around 40cm ish but some were massive and struggled on the light rod and reel.
Kept a couple for dinner and a few that will be released at the 6 mile in cubes.

Absolutely full on when you find em.
Back in the day we used hand lines with dark green brickie string and a halco lure or white plastic lure.
Now I can't find the string apart from the bright colours.
Also the bag limit was measured in fish bins.
Now it's per fish so the bream rod with a halco slug on it is a lot of fun.
