Hi guys fishing on the weekend on my kayak for the first time at lake mulwala any of you got any lure suggestions and what areas I should be targeting on my kayak. As I don’t know the lake that well and never kayak fished for cod. I have a lot of cod lures except for most swimbaits
Cheers oli

Re: PB Mulwala Trip
Never fished mulwala before. Plenty of videos on YouTube about mulwala, popular cod fishery. Structures everywhere for the cod to hide.
I'm not an expert in cod fishing but to me cod fishing lures are the same for most places, deep diving hardbodies such as stumpjumper, spinnerbait and surface lures.
During the day I'd use deep diving hardbodies and spinnerbait. Have only landed handful of cod on surface but generally low light condition helps, use koolabung, cod walker, warlock, etc.
Being on a kayak is similar to landbased, cast as close as possible to structures and retrieve.
Good luck and let us know how you go. I'm keen to hear more about mulwala. Planning to go there one day with my yak.
