A few more Estuary Perch from the fresh in Werribee

Post by Seniorfisho » Wed Feb 05, 2020 8:22 am

I have been busy with work lately but I managed to sneak out for a fish a few times during the week. The river has had a big flush out over the last week with water being released fro Melton Reservoir all the way down to the weir which made for some patchy fishing, however I still managed to land a few fish during the last 5 or 6 days. These are a few samples of what I have been getting.

Good size.
How's the water clarity?
I went there on Thursday for a quick 1/2 hr flick, hooked a bass and dropped it.
Might head there tomorrow to give another crack on them.

Yes, the water is about the same color, bad luck on the bass

Are these fish in the salt water or where the salt meets fresh or total fresh water ? I've never targeted them only bream.

They are right through out the system, but I fish above the weir in the freshwater, so total fresh water. They were stocked into the fresh above the weir

Thx, the one time I fished above the weir many years ago I only caught red fin, way before the stocking program.
