St Leonard's pier and Barwonheads river

Date: 14-06-19
1st location: St leonards pier

Duration of session: 11pm - 7am total 8hrs

Water clarity and condition: 90% clear visualy no weed

Tackle: 2 medium action rod with double drop size 1/0 octopuses hook, a 2-4 kg spin outfit with 2000 reel spooled with 4lb braid n 6lb fluro leader used for soft plastic and squid jigging.

Baits and lures used: squid strips, pilchard, pippies, 2.5 inch grub style soft plastic on 1/8 jighead size 1/0 and 3.0 white squid jig.

Fish caught: 1 x squid 40cm hood

Other activities: observations, 1 fisho with 7 squid and 1 just sized king George @3am, 1 couple with 1 small squid @6 am, 3 fishos with donuts.

2nd location: Barwonheads river

Duration of session: 8am - 11am total 3hrs

Water clarity and condition: 100% clear visualy with lots of weed on the run tide.

Tackle: 2-4 kg spin outfit with 2000 reel spooled with 4lb braid and 6lb fluro leader. Rigged a double drop rig with size 6 long shank hooks with green n red beads. Small tear drop sinker.

Baits and lures used: small squid strips, small slices of pilchard fillets, pippies and 2.5inch paddle tail minnow soft plastic in motor oil colour. 1/6 jig head size 1/0

Fish caught: 20 salmons between 26cm - 33cm kept, 30 more salmons all between 24cm - 30cm+ released already reached bag limmit, 15 baby flatheads between 8cm - 26cm released, 10 king George whiting between 23cm - 27cm released, 5 puffer fish released, 6 trevalys between 22cm - 26cm released, a big banjo shark @ 70cm released.

Other activities: observations, 3 other fishos bagged out on salmons, 1 fisho with 3 silver trevalys @ aprox 40cm+ caught on bass yabbies, 2 kids catching and releasing numerouse amount of salmons on soft plastics and an old man with a nice big gurnard caught on pilchard.

Barwonheads river would be a great location to take the kids for a fish now as it's full of small fish to keep them busy. Pretty much guarantee them some fish for fun, didn't take photos as there's really nothing to brag about on this report. Cheers :cheers:

You landed more than 80 fish, that is one awesome fishing session. What makes it more amazing is that all bar one was caught in 3 hours. That is one amazing morning. No need to go to the Gym, those guns of yours would have got a good work out.

Bragging rights begin when you catch something mate.
Banging out and then Catch more is definitely worth bragging about
