Cobby has given you almost everything you need to know! An add to this is when you graduate to the RIP be mindful of your GPS and sounder. The fish generally hang around the 70 to 80m drop offs the problem being the current will have you in 20m I n seconds and if you do become snagged its very difficult to snap the rig as you are using heavy gear. Also there is a sh!t load of boats to contend with who don't care if they drop right on top of you (especially if you've hooked up!) Good luck in your pursuits
