Lorne pier pinkie, yakas and squid

Post by Kenle » Sun Jan 05, 2020 11:28 am

Hey guys, just a quick one for ya. Got out on Friday night with me family to Lorne pier for a quick fish as it was very calm n warm. It was packed but we managed to find a little spot to get a couple rods in. Most of the time we were throwing squid jigs but we were constantly pulling out banjos and port Jackson sharks apart from one nice pinkie that was 36cm. By sundown the yakas n coutas came out to play and we were pulling them out one after another on squid strips n chicken on a double drop patanoster rig with size 1 octopus hook and a small tear drop sinker. Great fun and I'm set for bait for a while filling up my freezer with yakas n coutas. We landed 14 squids all up but they're underneath the fish lol some really good size hoods but quite a few small ones were landed also. Everyone else did well on squid n yakas too, overall great session had and although it's just bait collecting it was awsome fun non the less. :ch:

Nice mixed bag. That pinkie looks decent, how big?
Gotta be happy with 14 squid.
