Geelong waterfront

Post by Sebb » Sun Jul 05, 2020 10:47 pm

A quick report.

Geelong waterfront.
Plenty of small flathead around 20-25cm and undersized pinkies. Caught one decent size nudging 41cm. Lunker city grubster 2in, zman slim swimz 2.5in.
Couple dolphins following us for few mins, pretty cool.

Dolphins were incredible to kayak along with.

Huge bait schools sounded up all through the day as well - here's a cool underwater "death star" of bait

They really did come right up to you all.

I'm surprised with the lack of pike, normally they're hitting anything that moves haha!

Was nice meeting you too.
I was wondering what camera did you use? Small and cube like. Seems smaller than a go pro.

Yeah unexpectedly no salmon/pike at all. Despite all the bait fish and arches in mid/top water.
The encounter with the dolphins was pretty awesome.

Well, now I'm stuck to fish metro area only, like many others. Be a while to be able to fish outside metro. Being in point cook, is kinda the edge of the metro and less than 30mins to Geelong, yet unable to fish around there.

Oh well, still plenty of places. Health and safety first of course.

It's a Kaiser Bass knockoff GoPro. Seems to work ok, sometimes the photos come out a bit messy when the light conditions aren't great.
