St Leonards Pier Drone Photo Resource

Post by Andrews » Sun Jan 24, 2021 1:03 pm

Hey Everyone,

I was forwarded this incredible drone photo of St Leonards Pier and with permission I had to share this resource. It's by far the clearest photo I've seen of the pier yet and highlights the different depths, weed structures and sandy holes.

This is gold for us land based fishers and should help support the current resources and fishing for all species.

I increased the saturation to make the contrast between sand and weed more visible, the deeper weed patches is not as clear due to the deeper depth.

Hope this helps anyone planning to fish there!

I think this is when the pier was complete before it went to dis-repair and was more cost effective to just shorten it rather than repair it. Correct me if I'm wrong it looks like the same pier.

Parks Victoria looks after the St Leonards Pier not the Foreshore Commitee- Bellarine Bayside.
Andrew can you please advise where you obtained the info about the Foreshore having the money for repairs since 2009?
Bellarine Bayside is responsible for the boat Ramp and Jetty at St Leonards
