St. Leonards trip this coming Saturday
Good afternoon everyone. Been lurking the forum for years but for some reason, only just registered today (better late than never). I have late Saturday arvo through Sunday morning to myself and was thinking that I would head down St. Leonards way, as I haven't been in a while. Have read all of @Andrews recent squid reports and was curious as to what what the action has been like over the last few day. Cheers.

Hey Odie!
Welcome to the Fishing Victoria Forum! You're definitely right, better late than never!
You're in luck, I was out this-evening and have a nice update from the St Leonards Pier.
Conditions were pretty murky, 1m visibility, this made made the squidding a little hard, but not impossible. The dirty water has brought the KGW back in close during the nights and during the day/night a few nice gummy sharks have been taken at the end facing Melb (one while I was there today). Pinkies are a little quiet, while the mackerel are wild under the lights. Managed a nice squid @6:30PM tonight. Sunday is looking better squid conditions, Friday morning/afternoon is a W wind which continues well into Saturday mid-day, expect clean water with a light breeze. Sunday should be the same, clear with plenty of species around during those low light hours. I'll be down there Saturday evening from around 5, if you see me, feel free to come over and say hello. I'll probably be wearing pretty much the same outfit as above. haha!

Re: St. Leonards trip this coming Saturday
Hi Andrew.
Thank you. It's long past due!
I usually go down to the pier at the boat ramp later in the evening and have always had great luck there (pinkies and KGW). Great banter with the old-timers that are there, as well.
Thanks heaps for the report, mate. I should be heading down around 5. I'll mosey to the pier and come say hi.

Half your luck! Slay some KGW & squids for me. I guess I'll try to get to my local at Altona.

Re: St. Leonards trip this coming Saturday
Hopefully its not too busy there tonight, I was thinking the same but decided to just relax. I think the fishing should be nice after the 5 days, squid should move in closer with the reduced pressure.
