Went out of portarlington today with my mate we went to point Wilson to try for whiting. 1st stop 30 mins not a touch so we mover 250 mt closer to land berleyed up with chicken pellets. About 20 mins I get a bite a nice whiting this went on every 20 mins a bite best whiting went 40 cm we ended up with 9. Then my rod buckles and the reel screams it's a 46cm pinkie. We never got another whiting but the pinkies went berserk at one stage I cast my rod before I sat down I was on again this happened 3 times. At 130pm we left them biting with 6 over 40 cm best went 51cm we headed back to Port.
All fish on whiting gear squid and pippi bait paternoster rig 10 lb leader. We hooked 2 fish we couldn't stop.

Great sized fish getting around at the moment, have a week off work and keen to chase some land-based snapper local.
