Fished the mighty Yea River upstream of the town today. Using mostly size 1 vibrax spinners i hooked a couple of nice little browns around 30cm and had about six other fish follow or nudge the lure including one that looked like a pretty solid bigger fish.
Was very wary walking the banks after seeing two small red bellies in the first ten minutes then later saw a cute little tiger that eventually swam away. All up it was a most pleasant session with most likely looking sections holding a fish and the only downside being the flies. Will definitely revisit sometime.
Cheers

Nice fish, sounds like a lot of action.
Did you wear wader or gaiter? I always do. In case of snake encounter like that.
Saw a skin of a decent tiger snake today. It's that time of the year when they're active I'm guessing.

Nice report, vibrax are always a soid option on trout. Nice capture of the snake - i saw a baby tiger the last weekend swim across the Goulburn, then scale up a small bush poking out of the river bank and wrap itself around a branch to sun itself.

Cheers, I’ve always been pretty casual but I think I will invest in some gaiters from now on.
Cheers, they’re such great swimmers they can pretty much go wherever they want.happyfriggincamper wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 8:43 pmNice report, vibrax are always a soid option on trout. Cheers, definitely got my interest back in trout after walking for miles on the Tyers River and only seeing one fish the last time I tried.
