Yarra River 21/3/20

Post by Charles7 » Sat Mar 21, 2020 9:18 pm

I went down to the Yarra with a mate as the local reddie hotspot has been deathly quiet of late and landed this carp using corn on a running sinker rig. It fought pretty well, taking me for a few long runs before tiring out and slowly coming in. Weighed in at a touch over 2.5kg and was 58cm in length. New PB for me (biggest carp and biggest fish overall when not counting eels). Unfortunately this was the only fish landed in 6 hours and 40 minutes of solid fishing. Hopefully we'll put a bit more of a dent in the local carp population next time.

Fishing, PB, helping the environment by getting rid of pest. What a fantastic thing to do!
Look at that big smile, very nice!
Noticed there's less carp caught lately. It's a good thing I guess.
