will red fin take a tassie devil?

Post by ChrisD » Tue Jan 29, 2013 8:22 pm

Hoping to chase some red fin tomorrow in the yarra, but am very low on spinners. i do however have a tacklebox full of tassie devils.
Not expecting any trout where I am aiming, but have not heard if red fin will take a tassie devil or not?
Anyone had any experience with them?

Smashed a whole heap of them at lake hume on a bright pink 15g tassie. Caught some nice sized ones and also some barely the size of my thumb.

If you get a chance to read this before you go, best colour for reddies on the tassies.... is red...... Redfin are quite the cannibals...

I have had good success catching reds with the small pink with black stripes tassie devil, and the bright breen and yellow one; the ones around the size of your pinkie/little finger. cheers , gl.

Thanks guys, but they just weren't on the bite tonight. Spent two hours working the Yarra beside Heritage Golf course in Wonga Park.
Tried, worms under a float, worms on the bottom, tassie devils and spinners. Worked about 200 meters of bank, but not even a bite. It was completely dead. However it was relaxing, a quiet night on the river was just what I needed before I head back to work tomorrow.
With the weather about to take a nose dive, don't think i will get back out for a little while, but will keep a close eye on things and will certainly be back out again asap.
