Some nice fish !
Can I ask, do you guys drift for gummies or are you anchored?
Can you tell what depth you're in?
Cheers.

That's incredibly good withstanding the fact that it's ******* JUNE!!!!

I find a drop off in 20-30m and anchor. I dont bother to travel to far as I have found over time slimy mackerel as chum will bring fish to you from long distances. its not so much the feed its self but as I learned back home in Canada while tuna fishing the smell is simply unmatched as a few chunks every few minutes will keep a trail of sent straight to your fresh bait. At this mark just past the bluff I was in 24m.Persistence wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 1:45 pmSome nice fish !

Still great snapper around out front mate. Last couple of years I was onto great size snapper
until the first week of July. Do need to fight through some reef fish and pinky but.
Ive had great fishing for big snapper late season on the drift east to west seems to work best as per notes

Spot on. I do fish known grounds but I try and stay away from the groupings of boats by finding something worth anchoring on, like a ledge, a structure etc. And then sensible berleying brings them to you OR activates the fish that are there.
A mate thinks he has to anchor to the mm on his spots , , , , I keep telling him there is no need to be that accurate , , , , fish swim , , , , they can swim that 10, 20, 30 meters (and heaps further) to your bait , , , , especially if you guide them there with cubes, berley etc
Cheers, Bugguy
