Post by wazdog » Fri Jul 26, 2019 9:04 am

Hi all, fished off janjuc beach yesterday from 1.30pm till 4.pm.The swell was up a bit and heaps of weed clogging up lines and getting dragged down the beach, was a bit annoying but persevered and managed a decent gummy and salmon.Happy as,had enough of the weed and the dramas that go with it so packed up and went home, good day.Hope yas have fun and be safe 😀😀

Gummy during the day... Nice. How big was the gummy? And what was the rig?

Hey seb,rig was running rig ,60 lb trace,1meter long, with 2 size 5 j hooks,6ounce star sinker, and pilchard was the bait,I tried squid as well but pillie got the hits. I didn’t have a tape to measure but would’ve been about 1100,took a photo but I find it hard to attach it so can’t be bothered, good luck anyway, hope the swell and weed aren’t to much trouble.

Went there yesterday 2:30pm-7pm.
One baby ling and small sand crab... No salmon, no gummy
Few people fishing and none caught.
Considering the nice wind, tide and swell, it was not productive.

Sometimes I find I get excited because the conditions look perfect but ends in donuts. A baby ling from the surf? I’ve never caught one.

Yeah we were expecting a few fish since the condition was perfect.
A very small ling around 20-25cm ... Unexpected catch.
