Glenelg river - surprised sighting

Post by sweetstarneon » Tue Jan 25, 2022 5:44 pm

I went to portland over the xmas holiday break, but didn't catch much. Combination of not good fishing technique and not knowing where to go.

This was my first trip to the area and thought i would share that i sighted a seal swimming around with a fish in its mouth at sapling creek, glenelg river at the start of the month. Not sure if it the resident seal. :dn:

Believe that the fish weren't as far up as pritchards either, if that is helpful to anyone

Haven't seen 1 recently. A couple of years ago 1 was a regularly seen close to Nelson. He would put on an entertainment show for boaters and was certainly friendly. Down side you has no hope of fishing in the area where he was.

Never been there.
Seal usually means bad for fishing.
