another trip with no return!

this was the third trip in three weeks down to wp with nothing to show!!
been targeting the spit/Boulton and bouchers channels for gummy or a winter red
put in 2 big days and spent most of the night out in the bay last night with heaps of fresh salmon and squid but can't even get a bite!
we spent ages sounding around finding some good size fish but just can't get one in the boat! can't even get a bite on the big rods... not even a banjo!
no one at the ramp last night had any fish either which makes me feel a little better about the 3 and zip record I've got at the moment... my Mrs is starting to give me grief about being a shot fisherman so my pride is on the line!!
I haven't done a lot of winter fishing up this end of the port but surely someone has some tips? or is it just to cold.. water temp was as low as 9.5 last night
