Apart from the 2.6 million toadies at warneet all i caught was a big ray. Didnt really fight like a ray though so was good fun, apart from the obvious disappointment of it being a ray!

Went down to Warneet on the 2nd and the 3rd both for some late arvo and night fishing, caught a nice 91cm Banjo Shark off the floating jetty on the 2nd on the break between the tide coming and going, then on the 3rd caught another banjo this one cracked the 1 meter mark easily but unfortunately the line snapped just as I went to scoop him out of the water, casted in the same spot and it was during the break between high and low, was using a 10ft surf rod, 8lb line then a 15lb trace, using a fairly heavy pyramid sinker (not running) and a long shank hook size 4, and was using squid for bait, Warneet has probably been my lucky spot as far as pier fishing goes, caught plenty of Flatties, Whiting, Mullet, and Trevally over the years.

well done man. that big banjo would have given you some fun on 8lb line in the current. also, just fyi, the measurement on those brag mats starts right at the inside of the plastic bit That your foot is on. that would make the banjo in your pic 81cm. Where you've got his nose atm is the 10cm mark

If u can dodge the swarm of toadies, u can get a nice fight with whiting, big mullet about 30cm, leather jacket as ive seen many swimming around the pier
