Finally got out for a quick fish yesterday off Cleeland Bight. The plan was collect bait for a try on the snapper up the top end today but circumstances out of my control stuffed that.
Managed a few big squid and a couple of smaller specimen over a couple of hours drifting around the channel edges. The squid were a bit tough going continuously changing jigs to make it work that’s the way it goes sometimes though.

No worries yesterday was one of the days lots of casts and jig changes but that’s the way it goes probably caught one of the largest squid I have got.
Today would have been the day to tempt a red

Re: Cleeland squid.
Sounds like an alright day mate. A few big ones? How big were the hoods? You plan on having a good feed or using some for bait as well?

Re: Cleeland squid.
Wasn’t bad for a few hours LX Biggest Hood would have been over 40cm as an estimation. Bit of food and some vac sealed for bait.
