yeah they are effectively replacing the ocea range with these new Terez's. The sizing is way off though yeah, the 50lb rod really isn't a 50lb rod haha.
Ive got a few of em and they are great, but they struggle a bit on the heavier end, if you get a big king or big dolly or tuna or something like that.

Anyone know of any reasonable 'shallow spool' reels around? After something for some 3lb line!

you should see the Ns Offshore rod i have , looks like a whiting rod, but rated to 30LB
this new combo you have should be sweeet on the fish kicking around atm id say.
wit the newer carbon and treatment process they can make them a lot thinner now.

Re: Show us your purchases!
another wee, more fishing gear (and with this 750 dollars people are getting even more fishing gear soon)
nothing fancy just a lure wallet or bait binder as the americans call it, bloody handy tho for what it is.

Re: Show us your purchases!
Shimano stradic ci4 in 1000 size. Got it, love it. Mine is not the latest model but the new one is likely just as good or better. I use it on my bream stick and trout spinner.
Possible upgrade to carbontex drag would be nice.
Also, the line rollers on all stradics and ci4’s are their weakest point. I’m a fastidious reel cleaner but these still corrode and need replacing or they destroy braid. I actually have a small collection of new ones for replacements (saved on shipping) and I even bought one Stella line roller as a replacement for my most used stradic as it is interchangeable and made of different materials. I don’t know if it was worth the $40 yet but if it doesn’t corrode then I’ll end up replacing them all with this. See how it goes over a few seasons (if it lasts that long)

Cheers for the recommendation skronk. I did take a look at the small Stradics but they were a bit more than I was wanting to spend.skronkman wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 9:13 amShimano stradic ci4 in 1000 size. Got it, love it. Ended up going for a Daiwa Exceler 2004 which seems to be about right. It had some box damage so ended up coming out at $100 which worked for me since I am just dipping my toe into this type of fishing.
Sitting in a box at the office now, however I am working remotely so can't get it at the moment. May pop in in the middle of the night to grab that package before the weekend haha.
