What islands are you thinking about anyway? Can’t see a pickup and drop off at a remote island being cheap in any way.

If it was something you were seriously looking at doing regularly and the islands are relatively close then for all the rooting around you’re better off just getting a banged up little tinny and beaching it/anchoring in the shallows near land on whatever the island is.
Yeah, the tinny idea is great! But, for this to work, it needs a seasoned skipper that knows his way around the water like Barra Mick was saying! :tu:

I’m hoping that people would see this as an opportunity to make money on the side, enjoy their time fishing and share ideas with other people from around the place.

Some of those islands look pretty small and inhospitable to landing a boat.

Hang the expense, just hire a chopper between a few fishos. Drop in a couple of days camping gear and make a long weekend of it.

Now Im just dreaming :wt:

Ideally find an island with a sand beach.

Rabbit island is the only one I can think of?

Rabbit Island and Notch Island both have beaches.

Rabbit would be the best option IMO.

But why bother once you are out there why not just fish off the boat.

You could always walk to Sealers cove, Tinmine cove etc and camp there for a few days.

Yeah that’s why I said it defeats the purpose of LBG in the first place

Not sure what the LB fishing off rabbit would be like. It would definitely hold kings around the rocks, and live squid to the north of it for bait

I agree it seems a bit pointless.

Around rabbit you would most likely catch, Australian Salmon, KWG, Squid and flatties.

Millions of snook around the rocks too. No doubt yellowtail would be cruising around every now and then and probably the odd toothy too

Hmm .. correct me if i am wrong but .... given you're willing to spend $$$ to get someone charter you across with their boat - why don't you just charter an Inspector Gadget type of helicopter to take you to and from the island. Certainly will be dammed quicker, more comfortable and of course safer too IMHO.
