Hi everyone.
Ferntree Gully reservoir will once again be stocked with a further 400 rainbow trout yearlings this week. I fished this spot a couple of weeks ago and caught 10 trout in 90 minutes. All catch and release. I was using powerbait in bright colours and scrub worms on a very simple running sinker rig. It's a great spot to take the family. Very scenic views, birdlife and tremendous fishing.

Here is a video of the session which shows some rigging and catching techniques that will hopefully help others catch a few fish too.

Yeah very true about the white rod. Goes to show the most subtle change can make a huge difference.
I went to Bostock 2 weeks ago only fished a couple of hours but couldn't get past the trout fingerlings that would get your bait straight away. The water level was great to see and soon it will be fishing great. here was our vid from the morning https://youtu.be/fps_HaC1FWY

a mate went the next week and caught 2 nice size brown trout.

Picked up 3 Rainbow trout this afternoon on Keitech Easy Shiner 2". First time Ive fished the lake since its opened to the public and what an awesome job to make it accessible to the public. Much more accessible than parking 500m+ from the lake to avoid security and crawling through a small hole in cyclone fencing.

First fish was taken shortly after arrival around 3 and was the smallest, putting up little resistance even on 4lb and a 1-3kg 7ft. Changed lures with little interest. Few missed takes on the 3" Powerbait ripple shad(perch colour) so changed back to the Keitcech and picked up 2 more rainbows which were bigger, around 30cm. These fish had all their weetbix this morning because they hit with aggression and didn't relinquish easily.

After catching the last fish, had a school of 12-15 Rainbows follow the Keitech right up to the jetty on the surface. First time seeing so many trout swarming a lure.

I remember I went there, long walk from the top down to the water. Pretty nice little place though.

Great work! Was I seeing things or did the reels go from left hand wind to right hand wind?...I watched this at work with the sound down so maybe you mentioned it? Maybe trick camera work

The access and work they've done on that lake is incredible, really interested to see how it develops as a fishery
