There was an fb post of karkarook just got stocked with 2000 trout not long ago.
Havent been there recently, was there about a month ago, but powerbait is always good there. Use small spinner like mapps or zman grub 2.5". Small hardbody around 3-4mm works too. Caught on storm gomoku minnow pink and ecogear mx48 rainbow.

Has anyone tried karkarook for Estuary Perch ? Is it possible to catch them on poppers?

Caught them on subsurface and fly. They're kinda easier to catch than the trout. So I bet they're fished out easily. Albert Park is better if you want EP within metro area.

Ditto this. EP are few and far between at karkarook, would be much better trying at AP. I throw a little juro surface bug at sundown and have had good results. Reddies at karkarook used to be abundant but basically don't exist there anymore.
