Albert Park 14/11/2019 afternoon quickie

Post by Sebb » Fri Nov 15, 2019 6:46 am

Nope, not that kinda quickie.
It's a quick 2-3 hours after work fishing while waiting for missus to finish her work. Gotta love daylight savings.

It was my mate, Chris the 'happyfriggincamper' and I fishing and we were using three diff outfit and three diff lure to maximize the possibility of catching fish.
My mate was using baitcast outfit and a 9gm spinnerbait, Chris was using a spinner and I was using a small shallow diving hardbody.

Started fishing about 5:45pm around south end of the lake. Water was surprisingly a bit low, thought it would be full after all the rain we had in the past few weeks. Or at least all the rain since the F1 event. No sign of fish, no bite, no action til about 8:15pm. Saw few trout rose and took caddis on the surface. Then I missed about 5-6 hits in 15 mins or so. Either tap tap gone or the fish spat the lure. Couple of them was definitely rainbow trout. Saw the head and spat the hook mid air. Saw a boil around 8:30pm and bang a 26cm EP. Nothing after that.

Wasn't very productive but oh well, was a pleasant 20 degrees evening fishing with couple mates.

The rainbow took both storm gomoku minnow pink and Daiwa Dr-minnow trout pattern. Landed the EP on Daiwa jointed Dr-minnow.

Great evening there Seb, nothing like a quickie and a threesome at that. Three buddies flicking out lures and SPs enjoying a nice warm afternoon with a great city skyline across the lake as the view.

Well done on the EP too :tu:

Seb, I remember croe mentioning something that at Albert Park there are more "looks" (or criticism) of Fishos by the "public" than most other places. Fishing is permitted there, as mentioned in other threads, but are there signs saying/indicating that Fishing is permitted. Not for the Fishos as such, but more so for the general public to be aware that it is permitted.

Cheers, Bugatti

Nice EP seb :)

I always find the northern end to be more productive especially after dark with brighter coloured shallow divers. Never had any luck with plastics.
I'm still hunting my first AP yella, what about you?

cheers

Caught yellowbelly there a while ago. South east end :tu: spinner bait black and gold.

North end is where they released the fish. So if it's freshly released, the north end is super productive, especially the trout.
