Glo bugging Eucumbene river 12-6-16

Hope you all had a good long weekend gents!
We took off for Eucumbene on friday night. After leaving a bit later than expected we ran in to some dramas just out of Tumbarumba.. We hit a roo in my brothers ranger.. Hit the passenger side headlight mid jump.. Smashed everything folder the quarter back and push the radiator back into the viscous fan, cracking it and losing all the coolant.
Luckily we were with another car so after sleeping on the side of the road till morning we organised a tow and carried on to Anglers Reach where we were staying.
We didn't end up fishing Saturday because we were just too wrecked so just had a good feed and relaxed for the big Sunday session. The weather Sunday was beautiful. The mornings are so cold there my rod tip and line roller had ice hanging off them! Once the sun came out though it was perfect.
With good reports from mates already up there of them landing 6lb to 8lb fish i was pretty excited to get out. We tied a few glo bug/Nymph rigs the night before so we were ready to go Sunday.
Ended up landing around 12-15 fish between 3 of us and dropped countless amounts. Some big fish that were pretty much unstoppable in the faster running water. My old man pulled the hooks on a 7-8lb male brown right in front of us.. It was a beautiful fish. I also lost a fish around the same size just a tad smaller.
We ended up keeping one bigger brown and releasing all the rest. All the fish were caught on little cricket style nymphs and orange glo bugs.
Can't wait to do it all again!
Cheers, Anth
