Botany bay

Post by Nude up » Thu Jun 13, 2019 7:58 pm

The training I am doing is nearly finished the last days is on the job unfortunately non in Syd today so we were let out early.
Not wanting to waste a cracking day I went to a place called boat harbour where you can drive on the beach I drove a bit stopped had a quick spin drove a bit etc for nothing very slow.
So I headed to botany bay heads just past kurnell. Found a cracking spot flogged the water white not a touch a local guy next to me gave me some squid and I picked up a couple of fish.
A fantastic day 23 deg not looking forward to coming back to Vic next week.

Any time fishing is good even if you get nothing.

Nice report mate.
Looks like a great spot!
Enjoy the weather while you can.
It’s looking very wintery next week down here in Melbourne.
Cheers.

It is good fun flicking a line somewhere you've never explored before.
I'm not sure of anywhere in Vic you can drive a car on the beach come to think of it!

Great trip there Nude up.

A bit of everything which is always better than same ol same ol.

That photo of driving on the beach is exactly like down here on Goolwa Beach (Murray Mouth) and even Salt Creek.

The Murray Mouth is a great spot (as is Goolwa Beach) and it is convenient because Goolwa township is the gateway to the beach. And Goolwa (town) has all the conveniences for a decent stay. Stayed there a few times, nice pubs and the RSL is pretty good too. Mate has won the Friday night meat raffle twice.

There are reports about Mulloway (and Gummies & Bronzies/Schoolies) from Goolwa Beach/Murray Mouth BUT keep in mind it is a convenient location for us Adelaide folk to get to, so it does get fished by many hence , , , , out of the many, there are reports, meaning there is bound to be some catches amongst the masses of fishos. There are a fair few donut trips too.

Salt Creek would be my choice spot for Mullies if you are driving down this way (and yes, you can drive on the beach). Only thing is, is that it hasn't got a Township for convenience and hence you have to be a little more self-sufficient. But it's a better beach, better gutters and a bit better success rate there.

Cheers, Bugatti
