Eden

Post by guppie12 » Sat Mar 21, 2020 8:15 am

Hi all
Am currently in Eden on a holiday until Monday. We are staying at quarantine bay cottages. We got here on Thursday and went fishing as soon as we could. I started off flicking plastics around on the rock wall for no fish. Although I did hook up to something really big but got dusted. Later that night I went back flicking plastics around again, I was sight casting most of the night which was lots of fun. I ended up with heaps of yakkas about 10 trevally and 3 squid.

Yesterday I started off fishing the rock wall again flicking plastics. Was hard work for the first few hours only picking up I salmon then I went to the other side of the wall and smashed the salmon, they were all around a kilo. I then went back to where I got the trevally the other night and put weightless squid on. I got around 15 trevally. I then went to one of the beaches and flicked metals around for salmon. I smashed them got around 8 in an hour and a half they all would of been around 2 kilo.

Also does anyone know what this species of trevally is

It has a yellow tail and fins. It looks like a silver with yellow fins

Just got back from the beach flicked metals around for about 4 hours. Could follow the salmon up and down the beach pretty much the whole time as it was a small beach. Got one almost every cast. Ended up with around 100 all around 2 kilo

Nice work, trevally and salmon are a bit of fun on light gear. It's a little hard to tell from the pic but it could just be a juvenile silver trevally, they get a bit of yellow in them when they are small.

Yeah thanks mate... it was just the fins tho, it didn’t really have any yellow on the body.
