10,000th Tasmanian trout caught..

Post by meppstas » Mon Nov 04, 2019 6:22 pm

Well, I couldn't sit around home as I wanted to get out there and catch my 10,000th wild Tasmanian trout seeing as I only needed another seven to reach it.. Was a little late hitting the water but was still feeling confident of doing well on the trout.
It turned out to be a great spin session with 14 browns caught & released over three & a half hours in the water. I also hooked and lost seven others on the day, good thing was the 10,000th trout was also the best trout of the day, not a large fish but a well conditioned 485 gram brown. All the trout were caught on the Mepps Bug spinners today, thirteen on a #00 White Miller & one on the Stone Fly models..
When we moved to Tassie back in March 2000 I never gave it a thought of reaching the 10,000 mark with trout at all, that's where keeping a diary & records are good to look back on.. feel free to watch the video on YouTube too.. At this stage I'm in the middle of writing my report of the spin session..

Congratulations Adrian!!

That's quite special mate, well done. One hell of an accomplishment to make in under 10 yrs. To have actually documented each and every one of those 10,000 trout is unreal pal.

Congratulations Adrian on the 10,000 trout :sr:

That is a Herculean effort, with the spirit of a Spartan, the magnitude of a Titan and Poseidon himself would be in awe , , , , you have just been elevated to God status.

That photo most definitely has to be framed

And with that, there is only one thing to say

Very happy for your achievement Adrian, and an equally admirable achievement is that they are wild trout and most of those trout were released :tu:

Cheers, Bill
