Tannin water trout..

Beautiful weather conditions prevailed today (at last) so I spent a couple of hours back in a tannin stream. The water level was higher than I would have liked, plus with snow melt the water temp had dropped to four degrees. It turned out to be a reasonable spin session with five well conditioned wild browns being caught & released from nine hits and six hook ups. A well used and just about worn out Mepps #00 Aglia gold caught the first trout, the rest were taken on a #0 Aglia Fluo (micro pigment) rainbo spinner.

cheers
Adrian

Great looking trout, four degrees seems incredibly cold, can’t imagine how it would feel to fall in.

Fall in... :-D :-D It will soon wake you up that's for sure.. I did take a tumble around 17 years ago early in the season, that taught me a good lesson to go slow & easy.. :tu: Now at 74 years of age I'm slow anyway :wt: The tannin water trout are all beautifully coloured fish too, just love fishing these small streams..

cheers
Adrian
